How does a data migration work?
Yosanta uses its own methodology and supporting framework. Data migration follows four steps. First, data sources, quality and requirements are analysed. The target model, mappings and process are then planned. Implementation and test migrations follow. Finally, the production cutover, data validation and handover into operation are supported.

Robert Feitscher implements the data migration himself. He handles analysis and planning, carries out the technical data transfer and validates the results. Business understanding and practical implementation stay in the same hands.
When is data migration needed?
Data migration is needed when replacing legacy systems, moving to a new platform or consolidating several systems, for example. Business processes and the target system's requirements determine which data is transferred and how the transition is carried out.
What determines the effort and duration of a data migration?
Effort and duration depend on factors such as data volume and quality, the number of source systems, transformation rules and the scope of testing. Operational requirements also matter. Analysing the starting point provides the basis for a realistic project plan.
